So, here is a very simple recipe for a delicious holiday cranberry sauce...on the spicy side, like my fiction.
Spicy Cranberry Sauce
Ingredients
12-oz pkg fresh cranberries
1-3/4 cups sugar
1/2 cup water
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp ground allspice
1/8 tsp ground ginger
1/8 tsp ground cloves
Directions
Combine all ingredients in a large saucepan and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer, uncovered, until berries pop and the mixture thickens, about 20 minutes. Transfer to serving bowl and refrigerate until chilled.
Now it's time for HOLIDAY GIVING!

An Excerpt from THE PRINCE CHARMING HOAX
D.J. didn’t skip a beat when Roxie led him to her closet. He started to go through her wardrobe, which took a considerable amount of time. He finally held up a tiny red slip dress, with several rows of narrow rhinestone straps that crisscrossed in back.
“Try this one on for me. And take your hair down, please.”
Roxie rolled her eyes at him, but took the dress into her dressing area and put it on. The bodice of the dress was very small and the thin, clingy fabric barely covered her nipples, emphasizing her full, round breasts. The back of the dress dipped down to right above the crack in her derriere. The dress was so short that she could not bend over without exposing her cheeks. She had only one pair of tiny panties that could be worn with this dress, and she slipped on the lace thong, which was attached to a tiny triangle of material that barely covered the intended area. She came out of the dressing room, expecting him to say, “Forget it.”
“Perfect! Now put on these shoes.” He held out a pair of Stuart Weitzman high-heel sandals with a rhinestone ball decorating the clear strap across her toes.
“D.J., are you sure? This is the dress I wore last Halloween to a ‘Pimp and Prostitute’ party.”And, from The Home for the Holidays Blog Hop participants...

ReplyDeleteThis recipe sounds great. We always have to have that cranberry sauce for the holidays, it just wouldn't be the same without it, and I would love to see the looks on the faces of those who eat it this year if they got some good homemade stuff instead of the usual canned kind! I bet they would love! Thank you for sharing!
ReplyDeleteThe Prince Charming Hoax sounds like a great book. The last line, the one about the Pimp and Prostitute cracked me up. I think this is a book I have to get for myself. Thanks for the excerpt!

I'm not big on cranberries.I'm just being honest.I did take a picture of the recipe incase I ever have to fix cranberry sauce. I don't eat anything with pumpkin in it either but my son just informed me that he expects pumpkin pie this Christmas for dinner. He's in the Army, he's just 18. He graduated in August and he didn't get moved, he lucked up and is stationed in Georgia, the same place he graduated from.
ReplyDeleteI haven't bothered to let him know that there won't be a Christmas dinner this year. My husband's job closed down and the unemployment is barely paying the bills.
I want so much to give my daughter something for Christmas. I know she's fifteen but just because she's fifteen does that mean she's too old to receive atleast one gift? Well if you live in Virginia, that's how every Christmas organization thinks. If my kids were little, I could get all kinds of help, even food to make a Christmas dinner but because she's fifteen I can't. I also have a son, and I know he's 18 and out on his own living on base but I would still love to buy him something. I mean my son would be happy with a $20 DVD player or a Walmart gift card to buy him some groceries. His money is gone by the time he buys his Army supplies, car payment, phone, and insurance. I would think the Army would pay for everything but they don't.
My priority is Haley, and she's doing great in school and all she wants is a laptop. I'm not even talking about one that's expensive, no this one doesn't cost too much but we can't afford it.
She showed me one from Amazon that is a 10' Dell laptop, Windows 7, webcam, and she can play DVD on it also, and the price is $130 dollars. I don't know much about electronics and prices but I know the other ones I looked at was very expensive. I think it's a good price. I don't think it will matter if it wss $50 because we are barely keeping a roof over our heads. She told me to quit worrying about it and she has a roof over her head and that's all she needs. I know that's not true. I know her friends will be talking about everything they got and she will be hoping thst no one asks her but I'm sure someone will and she'll be honest. I know that will be embarrassing for her.
I'm not sure how this giveaway works because I haven't seen a Rafflecopter but on a few sites so far. I've been entering giveaway after giveaway since the end of August. I knew I would have to start early but I have one a book outbof 100 giveaways done by Rafflecopter. I'm completely worn out. I said I was done with the giveaway stuff and then I ran across this one. I mean I prayed to and said I'm putting it in your hands and please send me to the right place or help it all be ok. I got on Facebook and I saw this staring at me. WOW...what a sign. I think I was sent here. Thank everyone that is involved with this giveaway and good luck to everyone.
